You and I both already know that the true meaning of the Christmas holiday has been hijacked and replaced with credit cards and consumerism.
You don’t need another sermon on the reason for the season, but maybe you do need an opportunity to learn about some beautiful children right here in downtown Atlanta that really NEED YOUR HELP! Our city has thousands of kids that will not receive anything at all this Christmas unless we step up. We want you to help us get them each one awesome toy of their choice and one high quality school uniform.
Frank L. Stanton Elementary School, in the heart of Atlanta, has an amazing staff and a wonderful student body made up of some of the poorest, brightest children you have never heard of. These kids are amazing. Over 95% of the Stanton students live at or below the national poverty level and the overwhelming majority of these babies live in homes and apartments that are so dilapidated and unstable that you would be surprised that people are still allowed to live that way in 2009. This isn’t play poverty – this is the real deal and we get to provide HOPE to them! How cool is that?
Think about this idea…a single mother in inner city Atlanta says a prayer to God asking for help meeting the basic needs of her children and YOU get to be the answer to her prayer. You!By giving online, by tweeting and blogging and calling and texting and emailing and telling everyone you know about this, we will guarantee that one entire school full of children has an awesome Christmas this year.Let’s push hard and make it happen!
